Born in 1962 in Weimar (Thueringia). After School education as Laboratory Technician at the Institute for Concrete Aggregate and Natural Rocks, Weimar, Germany. Lab Technician at the same Institute until 1987. From 1987 – 1990 Lab Technician at the College of Architecture and Building Construction (now: Bauhaus University) Weimar. From 1990 – 1997 self-employed with Institute for Ecological Service in Kranichfeld ( Thueringia, Germany). Since 1997 Collection Manager, Section Lepidoptera, Zoologische Staatssammlung Munich

Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Usbekistan, Tadzhikistan and Kazakhstan, Venezuela, Nepal, Greece, Spain, Tunisia, Croatia, Austria, Italian Alps, U.S.A. (Florida and Oklahoma), The Gambia, Taiwan, Borneo, Indonesia (Sumatra, Java, Bali, Lombok, Sulawesi), Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, New Guinea, Australia
