Education

I entered middle school ā„– 75 of Ulyanovsk in 1995 and in 2005 I finished my study there. In the same 2005 I entered the State Pedagogical University of Ulyanovsk, Faculty of Biology, on the speciality ā€œBiology and Ecologyā€. In 2010 I finished my study there with a Diploma project ā€œMorphological features of the immature stages of the family Eupterotidaeā€ under curatorship of Dr. Vadim V. Zolotuhin (Department of Zoology). In the same year I became a PhD-student with special work on taxonomy of the Eupterotidae at the same University, Department of Zoology.

Work experience

While studying at the University I published 3 articles on Geometridae, Drepanidae and Saturniidae. These scientific papers were written based principally on a study of the collections of the Zoological Institutional of Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg; Zoological Museum of Moscow State University; entomologisches Museum Thomas Witt, Munich, Germany and Zoologisches and Museum Alexander Koening, Boon, Germany.

Since childhood, I was interested in rearing moths in captivity and some of these experiences are already prepared to publish. I took participance in many field expeditions through Middle Volga Region of Russia (2000-2009) and in field expedition to the Lower Volga, Bogdo-Baskunchak Reserve and Astrakhan Reserve (2006, 2007). In December 2007 and August 2010 I took special scientific visits to Germany (entomologisches Museum Witt zu Munich and zoologisches Forschungsinstitut und Museum Alexander Koenig zu Bonn) and Royal Museum of Africa in Tervuren, Belgium) for special work with typical material and collection funds of the Eupterotidae and Saturniidae.

In 2009 I took part in an international RFBI-grant between Russia and Vietnam ā„– 08-04-90300-Viet_a. In 2007 and 2010 my investigations were supported by Thomas Witt Stiftung.
