AS/6: Vollständige Reihe des "Journal of the Bombay Natural History Society"

Complete run of “Journal of the Bombay Natural History Society” Volumes 1-93 with index and memorial volume (1886-1996). Mostly cloth bound up to vol. 92; a few early volumes in half leather binding.

The Bombay Natural History Society
On September 15, 1883 eight residents of Bombay met in the Victoria and Albert Museum and constituted themselves äs the Bombay Natural History Society. They proposed to meet monthly and exchange notes, exhibit interesting specimens and otherwise encourage each other. The Society started its own Journal in 1886 and thus created one of the richest early sources on Asian natural history. The early volumes are especially rare and sought after now. These volumes also contain nice chromolithographs by GRÖNVOLD, for example in MEYRICK's Indian Macro-Lepidoptera. Vols. 1-26 contain 884 lithographs, of which 270 are coloured. Some library stamps. A few issues, indexes and some plates in a good Photostat.
